Affiliate disclosure

Last updated

The short version: we may earn a commission if you buy through some of our links, at no extra cost to you. When we do, the link is labeled. Commissions never change a camera's no-plan score, the plan prices we show, or what we say works without a plan.

Current status

As of the date above, No-Sub Cam Guide has no affiliate relationships and no affiliate links. The "where to buy" boxes link straight to the manufacturer's own page. Those links aren't affiliate links, and we earn nothing from them.

We may later join affiliate programs run by camera brands or retailers, which could include the Amazon Associates program. If we do:

  • Every page with an affiliate link will show a disclosure near the top, before the first link, not just in the footer.
  • Affiliate links will be labeled in the "where to buy" box and tagged rel="sponsored".
  • If we join Amazon Associates, we'll include the statement Amazon requires: "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases."
  • This page will list every program we're part of.

What commissions will never change

  • The score. The no-plan score is a count of five factual checks, each tied to a manufacturer source. A commission can't turn a "No" into a "Yes".
  • Prices. Plan prices come from the brand's own plan page, on the date shown.
  • The bad news. If a brand that pays us commissions puts a feature behind a paywall, we say so.
  • No fake reviews or ratings. We don't publish star ratings or testimonials, and we don't accept payment for placement.

This disclosure follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance that material connections, such as affiliate commissions, must be disclosed clearly and close to the recommendation.
